Private Dog Training Lessons in the Shenandoah Valley
Private Dog Training Lessons are convenient, informative and help your dog progress at a quick pace. When you want to have the best training environment for both you and your furry companion, The Valleys Dog School is a great choice. We work in a neutral environment to see the true personality of your dog, and provide efficient training to rectify any significant challenges. With some dogs, getting them out of the home can make a world of difference.
The key to getting the most enjoyment out of the relationship between a dog and the owner is to establish trust, direction and authority. While some owners may feel that they direct their dogs in an efficient manner, their behavior when placed in certain situations may say otherwise. Puppy Head Start
Raising a puppy is a dynamic process and can come with many frustrations. Our Puppy Head Start Program is designed to help simplify this process for you, giving you clear and accurate answers to any questions or unknowns you may have.
Content: Name recognition, handling and restraint, Intro to Basic Commands (Sit, Down, Come, Place). we discuss strategies to typical puppy behaviors such as house breaking, crate training, house boundaries, playful nipping and biting as well as work on socialization protocols.
For: Puppies between 12 weeks to 5 months old
Length: 60-90 min/per lesson, once a week for 5 weeks
Cost: $375.00
Prerequisites: At least First round of distemper & parvovirus vaccinations (DAPP) if under 16 weeks. Please keep your puppy home if he or she is sniffling, sneezing, coughing, has a runny nose or shows any other signs of illness -- you will be able to make up the session. If puppy is over 16 weeks we require Rabies certificate as well.
Basic Obedience and Lifestyle
This is a hands on program where we teach the owner how to handle the dog and work on teaching Basic Obedience skills.
Content: Basic Obedience Commands (Sit Stay, Down Stay, Wait at doorways, Heel Properly, Place, and Recall) on leash while also paying attention to any behavior issues the dog may be exhibiting.
For: All dogs 5 months and older
Length: 90 min/per lesson, once a week for 6 weeks
Cost: $500.00
Prerequisites: Current vaccination certificate (Must include Rabies, Distemper, and Parvo)
Advanced Obedience and Ecollar Intensive
This is a hands on program where we teach the owner how to handle the dog and work on teaching Basic Obedience skills on and off leash.
Content: Continuance of Obedience Commands (Sit Stay, Down Stay, Wait at doorways, Heel Properly, Fronts and Finishes, Place, Drop it, Leave it, and Recall) on and off leash, while also paying attention to any behavior issues the dog may be exhibiting. We also use this time to introduce low level remote collar training and work to address different scenarios around other animals, people, and other distractions.
For: All dogs six months and older
Length: 90 min/per lesson, once a week for 5 weeks
Cost: $400.00
Prerequisites: Current vaccination certificate and the dog must have already attended our Basic Obedience and Lifestyle Program or Puppy Head Start.
Pay By Lesson
Are you just looking for a head start in Training? or Do you only have issues with a couple minor Behaviors? Then this may be all you need.
Meet with the trainer once, twice or three times to address the issues and start a foundation of some commands that will help in addressing those issues.
Cost: $85.00 per lesson
Prerequisites: Current vaccination certificate (Must include Rabies, Distemper, and Parvo)
